This year, Fedorov is producing right away, already having scored 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 32 games. He also as 14 points on the power play, three shorthanded points, one game-winning goal, a minus-2 rating and 24 penalty minutes. Now, this must also be taken into consideration with the fact that the Blue Jackets started as a horrible team and are only starting to improve under the guidance of recently hired head coach Ken Hitchcock. Fedorov has put up 20 of his 27 points in Columbus' last 18 games since Hitchcock took over. Clearly, not only did the team improve but the individual players have also done better under Hitchcock's reign. Fedorov is third on the team in scoring behind David Vyborny and Rick Nash.
