The Carolina Hurricanes acquired veteran forward Anson Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday in exchange for a 2008 fifth-round draft pick.
The 32-year-old Carter has tallied 10 goals and 17 assists in 54 games this season for the Blue Jackets. He signed a one-year deal with Columbus this past offseason and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
"Anson is a veteran NHL player who has had some good goal-scoring years in his career," said Carolina president and general manger Jim Rutherford. "He will help strengthen our forward corps at a much needed time." Ha now they can deal with him turning out of checks and just dumping the puck in and running for the bench.
