Rookie Steve Mason

Rookie Steve Mason needed to save just 15 shots for his first career shutout as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Atlanta Thrashers, 2-0, at Philips Arena. Rick Nash had a goal and an assist, while R.J. Umberger scored the other goal for the Blue Jackets, who had lost three of four coming into the game. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 28-of-29 shots in the loss for the Thrashers, who have dropped three straight after a season- high five-game winning streak.
Go Jackets they are looking better nice fight also.

Blue Jackets centre Derick Brassard

Columbus Blue Jackets centre Derick Brassard on Tuesday was named the NHL's rookie of the month for October.
Brassard currently leads Columbus in scoring with four goals and seven assists through 11 games. He recorded points in all but two of 10 games during October.
