Jackets GM Howson is useless

The Columbus Blue Jackets waited until the final hour of the NHL trade deadline on Wednesday to deal forward Raffi Torres(notes) to the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Nathan Paetsch(notes) and a second-round draft pick.

AP - Mar 3, 3:01 pm EST NHL Gallery The Blue Jackets also sent defenseman Milan Jurcina(notes), acquired from Washington along with forward Chris Clark(notes) earlier this season. back to the Capitals for a sixth-round draft pick.

Torres, who can become an unrestricted free agent this summer, scored 19 goals and added 12 assists for the Blue Jackets in 60 games this season. Paetsch is a journeyman blue-liner who has seven goals and 35 assists in 157 career NHL games.

This guy is Howson the worst GM in the entire NHL.

Howson is actually one of the best up-and-coming GM talents in the league. This year hasn't gone well, but he's definitely a good GM for the long haul.

I had a Buffalo fan at the Arena ask if we could take Torres back, he played well here but has not done much with the Sabres.
