NHL canceles more games

One day after breaking off collective bargaining talks with players, the NHL today has canceled another week of games.
All games from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1 – a total of 53 games throughout the league – were canceled, bringing to 135 games the games that have been wiped out by the NHL’s lockout.
For the Blue Jackets, it’s three more canceled games – Oct. 26 vs. Minnesota in Nationwide Arena, Oct. 28 vs. Carolina in Raleigh, N.C., and Oct. 29 vs. Florida in Sunrise, Fla.
A total of eight Blue Jackets games have been canceled.
Talks between the NHL and NHL Players’ Association ended poorly on Thursday in Toronto, possibly ending the league’s hopes of reaching agreement on a new CBA by Oct. 25 and starting an 82-game season on Nov. 2.
