John Totorella wouldn’t bite

John Totorella wouldn’t bite on the low-hanging fruit offered him twice during a news conference that followed the Blue Jackets’ 1-0 overtime loss to the Canadiens last night. Anyone who saw his reaction to the holding call on defenseman Seth Jones knows how angry he was. Anyone who watched the coach walk across the ice and yell at officials seconds after Alex Galchenyuk’s point shot beat Sergei Bobrovsky understood the fire had not diminished. Tortorella can rage with the best of them.

favorites to win the Stanley Cup

They are also now the odds on favorites to win the Stanley Cup.
Yes. That is right. The Columbus Blue Jackets.
The folks at Bovada released their updated Stanley Cup odds on Tuesday, and there is Tortorella’s bunch right at the top of the list, currently sitting at 7/1 favorites to win it all.
On Dec. 1 they were 28/1.
The Blue Jackets enter play on Tuesday having not lost a game since Nov. 26, and even then they still gained a point in the standings by losing to the Florida Panthers in a shootout. They won the game before that which gives them points in 17 straight games, a stretch that has seen them earn 33 out of a potential 34 points.
Here are the current Stanley Cup odds for every team in the league. The Blue Jackets are followed by the Chicago Blackhawks, the Minnesota Wild (who have had a pretty impressive winning streak of their own), the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers.
The Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche are the teams with the worst odds, currently sitting at 500/1.
Columbus Blue Jackets: 7/1
